. I know 4 guys who probably took that many springs and sold them for 2$ a lb
I know of one band chief and elders were trying to teach the younger natives how to cut and dry fish. She was quite pissed off when the younger natives just wanted to catch and sell the fish. what they didn't sell they would just throw away.

To do that, we need to improve the Fisheries Act
I guess the fisheries people thought they were doing that by curtailing the licensed sport fishers

I think the number of seals and sea lions have an impact on salmon numbers. When I was a kid, 60 or so years ago, I very seldom seen a seal or sea lion polled up on the rocks or log booms etc.
Now they are a very common sight.

303 Savage ...The sealions were almost extinct as there numbers dropped to 30,000...They were put on the Endangered species list and protected..They have since rebounded to numbers approaching 600,000 animals ..Without management of predators they will eat all the salmon and not only affect our fishing but Orchas also..They are like wolves ..Man hasn't managed very well and with other things controlling salmon survival we are on a slippery slope..Have no answers but our countries management of salmon is to allow net pen Atlantic salmon farming..Yup ...We are run by " Geniuses ' "....NOT.!
