    Books on Reading Deer Sign

    Hey ya'll,
can anyone suggest some solid books on reading deer sign / habitat / behavior. Not really looking for the "how to hunt" kind, but rather a general understanding of the animals.

    Thanks much

I've found Mule Deer Country by Valerius Geist quite good.

Not a book, but these brochures by the government actually have some good information in them.

I would not rely to much on any book. I've read more than a few on mule deer. I've found that muleys seem to eat and behave differently from area to area. I would use trail cams and observe the does eatING as much as possible. As silly as it sounds write a diary of everything you observe. There are no shortcuts.

Thanks for this, interesting set of pdfs. I wasn't aware of the different types of deer populations.
