    ............Tub Trailers............?

Made on years ago with Drago's help and like a putz, got talked out of it.
What are options for these trailers?
Have the Canadian Tire flat top atv pull behind, but for getting firewood,
    well it's just too fickelty.
Need a metal or plastic moulded h/d sort.
Made a few calls and Explorer isn't doing them any more and not sure what happened
to Shewchuck. No phone # and just sent them an email.

The Trailer Shop is price prohibited with freight.
Not going to spend in excess of $2000 for a firewood trailer.
Costco doesn't seem to have the Explorer in inventory either at the Kamloops store.

Mr. Srupp, what happened to yours?

    Do tell?

    Re: ............Tub Trailers............?

The issue with the Cdn Tire tub trailers is the tub is shallow and mounted high, which makes them tippy when loaded and they don't hold much to begin with due to the short sides.

The Costco tub trailers (Explorer) have the tub mounted lower with the dropped center section and are much more stable and hold more in them. The only issue is they lack support under the back half of the tub, so longer, heavier loads hanging out the back can make them flex significantly.

I've used both and own an Explorer. A metal tub might be better, but also costs a lot more. I've thought of welding up a support for the rear of the tub, but have yet to find the time, but it works well enough as is that hasn't become enough of an issue to become a priority.

    Re: ............Tub Trailers............?

I've almost talked myself into building another metal one.
Had Drago bend the main body up using 11 gauge steel plate after I marked
    it all out for him.
Another HBC'r has replied he may have what I'm after, but no photos as of yet.
Tomorrow I'll make my decision whether I get photos of his or not.

    Question for you folk.
The four bolt pattern on those axles that Princess Auto sell, how do they compare
to the ones used on atv's?
Same bolt pattern with needing to enlarge the stud holes on the atv wheels?
Have a few spare tire/rim mounts that I can use on a build.

Thanks for your help so far.

Lots of guys on the Alaskan forums use Rubbermaid agriculture stock tanks for the tub bolted to a simple steel frame. Simple, strong and maintenance free.

    Re: ............Tub Trailers............?

    Update...........found a great deal on a utility trailer with a 4' x 6' deck and a plywood
fabbed up box insert with lid.
    It has 5 x 4-1/2" hubs with 12" wheels.
I do have some spare quad mounted tires on rims.
The four hole rims won't work, but what do I need for rims to fit these quad tires on?
    Never walked this walk before.
Used this trailer to fetch some farwood this afternoon and it is slicker'n chit.
Just the right size for the quad to pull full and doesn't wear me out.
Be great to add some width and bouyency to the ride.

I ran into he same issue when I build my quad trailer. I ended up spending the money and bought new rims from an ATV accessory supplier, Royal Sportman, with the proper 4 on 4” spacing.

If the atv wheels fit over the trailer hub, may be possible to just re-drill the pattern holes ?
    A little redneck, but .......
