Hey fellas, headed to 3-17b in the jet boat on a sheep hunt. Hoping this late season brings the big boys down near the river. Plan on launching at big bar. Any info on the area would be sweet Hopefully can post some pictures when I get back.

Good luck! I hope you get a dandy and post some pics.
Lucky you. I'll be up there hunting as well, no leh for me. I'll be looking for matures or full curls depending where I end up. Good luck on your hunt, hope you bag a big heavy horned sheep

thanks Brew! Hope to see you there. Do you know anywhere to launch by big bar ferry? I found out you can't launch there? Do you know the closest area that i could launch to there?

I think the only launch is in Lillooet
can launch in PG

To the best of my knowledge you cannot get to big bar from lilloet on the river the rapids are not passable
Bridge river rapids are formidable opponents to boat north of Lillooet. Don't do it.
I believe boaters used to launch at Gang Ranch bridge. Not sure about that anymore.
Once up there, park the boat, climb up out of the river bottom and start glassing. You will see the odd sheep/band on the last break to the river edge, but mostly up and beyond in the hills above the first break.
This time of year the launch at hand is not suitable for a jet boat. Your best bet would be Williams lake.
