I have been around this area exploring, mushroom picking, ice fishing and camping for the past three years and have not seen any deer. All i have seen is one cinamon bear by the mine and a lot of cattle closer to the valley. Good luck, all the best.

Went up Nickleplate road last month looking for some snowshoe hare or rabbit. Saw a younger cinnamon bear, as well as a few grouse.

I havnt been up there for a few years now. Hunting at one time was great. Big mulies and huge blue grouse if you knew where to go/hike. The last two times in there it was slow going. Very few deer, let alone good bucks and the blues are wary if you can find them. Good luck to you
