Does anybody hunt with a dog on a lead scenting for bear or cougar?
I've done some searching, and there don't seem to be any examples. Anyone have an opinion on the matter?

Pretty sure everyone uses multiple dogs so the predator flees and doesn't attack, I'm pretty confident a Tom mountain lion would shred a solo dog showing it aggression.
Im sure it can be done. The big question is can you keep up to the dog. The point of letting the dogs go is they will find the animal way faster then you just have to walk to the tree. To me if you want your dog on the leash, just wait for snow and track the cat tracks yourself.

I have treed cats by chasing them on foot no dog..
I have also just chased them two days..
Having lost a dog to a cat i would not let a single dog chase a cat unless it was leashed and i was with it.
Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback.
