    High winds and moose hunting...

Draw starts tomorrow and 40kmh winds forecasted bright and early. If i was just deer hunting I would stay home. Any pointers for windy day moose hunting? Looks like wind will be a factor all week....not a good start.

The worst day hunting is better than the best day at work

I shot my biggest bull moose to date in a major wind storm - but I think he was close by and my calling was right in his wheelhouse. Generally I've found that any kind of hunting in major wind is somewhat futile.

But you're guaranteed to be unsuccessful from home.

Have had 2 moose draws in my life and high winds ruined each one...thinking I am cursed.

Got look on the bright side....quiet stalking and scent gets blown out of the country, so you the upper hand on their senses if you can find them.

Just drive 41kmph+ when you're going with the wind. Very simple!

    Funny guy.
Reason is not automatic. Those who deny it cannot be conquered by it.

I wouldn't try calling much. Just sneak into some areas where you know moose are living. Bedding areas
