In what region did you take that fish?

Nice little fish . different eyes right away that I noticed than on the largemouth I have been catching out at the polder .
I have not seen any smallmouth at all out there .
Was that fish local to the lml .

Looks like ponderosa pine needles on the shoreline??
There's a number of lakes in the South Okanagan that hold smallies....
I saw those needles as well and the pebble beach shoreline . Osoyoos or vaseaux maybe .
just a guess

Green acres is where we use to stay. Ohh to be a kid again
lot's of penticton smallies this summer
when we were young we only kept walleyes (pickerel as we called them) all bass got returned...best friends dad was the regional bio and convinced us to eat them to help keep numbers down...he said they have super strong stomach acids that would taint the flesh when they got stressed so the best thing to do was to gut them as soon as they are caught to ensure the best tasting meat...they definitely proved to be delicious
