That'd be one. Hopefully that's my Mulligan for the season for dumb ass moves.
Got a grouse in my flip flops on the way home though.
Left at 4:00 AM - back at 11:00. Rogue boot still sitting in the drive way.

20 or so years ago I returned to my vehicle after an alpine hunt, threw my gear in, pulled my boots off, put my runners on, hopped in and drove the 6 hours home. Not until I unpacked the vehicle did I realize I had forgotten my one hunt old Irish Setter elk trackers beside the truck where I had parked. I was hoping they were going to be there when I went up the following weekend, but that was rather optimistic. Consider yourself lucky....... and thanks for the laugh. Could just imagine driving by some guy on a forest service road with a shotgun in one hand, and a grouse in the other, wearing flip flops, and saying to myself, "look at this joker wearing thongs".
The measure of a man is not how much power he has, it's how he wields it.
Well at least you get a hunting season. No joy down here. Lost the first bow season and now we are cutting into rifle as well.

Well, the good news is...
...you'll never do that again.
Pretend hunter.
Id rather forget the both boots then what i managed to do. Hiking into alpine to set up camp yesterday and i injured my knee while slipping a creek crossing. Very slow and painful hobble back to the truck. Nees to be more careful i guess
Leaving stuff behind is how my wife gets new gear.

Sucks when you forget things at home.
forgot my clip once. Ended up getting my first bull elk after going home to get it.
Forgot my range finder( shooting further than I realized ) once and missed the biggest bull I've had a chance at.
Forgot my bone saw today.......
Lots of private land that you could hunt. I helped a rancher I know eliminate an elk from stealing his crop this morning. up at 4, at his ranch( Fort Steele ) by 6. Dead elk by 6:45. First time I've cut a tag on opening morning.

I have had some bad ones...like forgetting fishing rod at hime in delta...only realising it when we get to silver lake in hope......today I took a fellow member out to mentor ....even brought to one of my honey holes I always see game in.....and nothing....to much leaves and temps to high....but he said it was fun and a cool expereance....note to self...dont drag beginner hunters out for blacktail...unless they are obsessed like you are hahahha....ironfox = great guy and would take him back out in a heart beat.
I only hunt in flip flops.
