I can't crack the lid on a jar of bear oil without my beagle loosing her sh*t!
I made a batch of french fries. They turned out fantastic - not greasy at all..

when I used to render bear lard, my wife got the best complements for her pie pastry.
those cracklins with a touch of salt, and with a beer are a real treat.

I made 2 batches, one rendering down to cracklin's ( sooo good! ), and one stopping short of cracklin's. The cracklins oil was slightly darker and more liquid at room temp. The other batch was white as snow and thicker at room temp. I filtered both warm, through 4 layers of paper towel. When done, I think the only difference was a slight colour difference, but both tasted the same. Do I get bonus points for frying my bacon in bear grease?

X2. Best pastry crust I've ever had was made with bear lard.

Is 4 gallons of grease just from one bear? This may be the year I try to harvest a bear.

Thanks man --- might sound stupid but seeing it in pictures gives one a bit more confidence in attacking this for the first time.
