    Babine Lake Sockeye

    Gonna hit the lake this weekend with my son.I have fished Babine mid August and done well for Sockeye but its two weeks later than I normally go. I know numbers are low this year as they opened on Aug 23 but wondering how others have faired Labour Day weekend.?Oh ya Pendelton Bay area. Cheers Mark

    Well there was lots of Sockeye and was fun catching them but only kept one .Lots of colour / not in the best shape.The Rainbow fishing was great with the boy landing a few 4 pounders and lots in the 2/3 lb range

    Nice rainbows in Babine too bad they are so wormy. Fun to play with though

    Is that something as of recent. We use to fish the mouth of the Fulton when they flushed out the spawning channels back when the mines were open. Don't remember ever seeing worms in the trout.

    I know it's been an issue for at least 10years. There is a few lakes that have worms that did not in the past

    I fish near Pinkut creek and it's common

    I never used to keep any of the bigger Rainbows because of the worm issue but we found none in any of the fish we kept which we found strange but its a good thing.
