    Archery moose at 60 yards?

Planning an archery hunt for moose this October. Shot one a couple years ago with my Excalibur Equinox at 44 yards, complete pass thru. This year I'll be packing a Bowtech Assassin shooting 60 lb draw weight. I am comfortable shooting to 60 yards but not sure what sort of penetration to expect on a moose at that range. Thoughts?

youll be alright as long as you dont hit shoulder. lot of time in the air for the animal to move, but moose dont tend to jump string as much as deer etc

If you are using graphite arrows penetration shouldn't be an issue shot from a 60 pound bow. Should be less drag compared to a crossbow bolt. A sharp broadhead is of course a gimme.

Look into the smaller diameter arrows like Easton Carbon Injexions or FMJ's with a quality broadhead... If your comfortable to 60 go for it, personally Id rather get into 40 even though Im comfortable at 60..

Just where do you get THAT from?
A crossbow arrow is simply a shorter, often stiffer version of what is shot from a compound.
Not getting the gist of what you're suggesting here...

I practice for closer ranges, 40yrds being the furthest out, but if I practiced for a 60yrd kill shot on a moose, I could do that. I would certinly reach for my heaviest broadheads.

And hunters are always suggesting the non hunter is uneducated about hunting.

Bow hunting, hunting, fishing, golf, driving, whatever aren't required to have ethics - people are.
