Sorry ... what is a gbl? What is the scenario you are using the firearm under? hunting? target? primarily indoors or outdoors? A little more info will likely get you better answers.

Marling guide gun with a big loop... I have one and run bone stock sights on it currently.. If I was to put anything on it it would just be a simple ghost ring sight as I use this mainly for bear protection and a camp gun.

Pretty sure he's talking about a 45-70 GBL meaning guide gun (short barrel) with the big loop lever. Sweet gun. I prefer to use the iron sights myself. Maybe someone else can weigh in

Just put a dab of flashy red nail polish on the front post! I did this on my 450 Marlin, and my 444 Marlin, works like a hot dam!! Moosin

Put ghost rings on mine, sees more daylight than any other rifle I have.

I've got a fixed 4X scope on mine. Works pretty good. I must say that particular rifle feels great to carry. Very compact.
When in doubt, just pin it.

Dude. Something about a scope on a lever gun is just wrong. Maybe i'm tainted by decades of watching westerns, but a scope on a lever gun just ain't right.
