I have 5-6 days planned for a goat hunt late sept-oct. Decideing between hiking up day one and camping high up for the whole time versus camping in the vallies in the vehicle and glassing all the areas peaks from down low and hunting up to a billy

We always hike up a valley and set up camp. Then we spend the days glassing goats from camp and making stalks when we find one we are looking for.

If you can let your eyes do the walking from camp. Not exactly sure how far the hile is on and out every day, but ot's easier to wake up in camp and glass instead of burning a bunch of calories going in and out each day
In general until the snow flies I'd prefer to be high providing weather is good. Once mid October comes then hunt from below.
