I have the sportdog 1.0 for my GSP and wouldn't leave the house without it. Haven't had an issue in the 2 years I've owned it. Will last a whole weekend camping if I turn it off and on when not in use (in the boat fishing, night time)
Not sure how it would be for running hounds but it is pretty accurate and effective at long range even in thick bush.
Good Old Outdoors "I was so puckered up down betweenst my butt cheeks I could have made a world class diamond that Beyonce herself couldn't even handle."
Since Garmin took over Tritronics their products have gone down hill badly and their customer service stinks. I personal would not own one. The pros are sold on the Dogtra products and I agree 110%

He is asking about GPS collars so Dogtra is not a player. I use Garmin Alpha and it works great and I have had no issues at all.
No idea how it compares to the garmin as I have never used their product.
It has a rather limited distance and nothing close to the 7 miles they claim.
if you turn on all the features the battery life is a couple of hours.
having said that, I like the system, although I still run Marshall trackers as backup.
it is legal in Canada, Garmin ain't.
