    Re: First Bear

Awesome story and nice looking bear. Sometimes it only takes a little luck to redeem our "hunter card".

Most hunters have done the hotel thing at least once (I know I have) ... I have slept in a few times and had my share of afternoon naps. I have a friend whose primary goal when hunting is to sleep as much as possible. He only gets out hunting once or twice a year and consequently, it is the only chance he gets away from the wife and kids where he has the option of sleeping in. I don't blame him one bit.

Congrats again and thank you for posting the story!

super nice colour...good looking bear...well done..

the one theme I keep hearing about bear hunting is: being what I consider lazy (sleeping in and road hunting) seems to actually work better!!!!

spring bear is super fun! for people who dont take advantage of it, you really should! its very relaxing, you see all sorts of animals, everything is so lush and green, weather is awesome, fishing is usually hot, and if you drink too much around the fire and sleep in, no panic the best time to hunt is late afternoon/evening!

Bingo....we are very lucky because in BC we actually have a GOS in the spring for black bear, many, many other jurisdictions do not...

Very nice bear and I like how you took the picture.
Nothing is like climbing a mountain, and then feeling like you are at the top of the world.
