Excal Equinox for me. I've tagged out with it for the last 8 years. All walk and stalk.

    Re: X bows

I am itching to get in on bow season this year so I can get an extra weekend of hunting... maybe find a BT before they go into "fall mode".

Happy to run into this thread. I'll be looking for something on the small/compact size that will work for deer and bear if need be.

I'll start by checking out some of the models in this thread.

Thanks gmachine! I will check it out. You left out the GPS coordinates for the early-dumb bucks though!!

Lots to read and then I am going to go check out a few crossbows at the local shops.

I would but it was on my buddy's land. He wont be too thrilled to see other hunters there

I bought the 335 Micro, it's pretty small compared to other models, took an elk and WT with it last season. Certainly gets my vote!

So many options so hard to choose, especially with not being able to test them in the store lol

    Re: X bows

Without getting too passionate, can anyone list the advantages and disadvantages in regards to crossbow vs compound bow?

I am leaning towards crossbow as it seems less complicated (keep reading about compounds that need tuning, losing hunting days to various mechanical issues more so than rifles or crossbows) I think I would be fine with draw weight and holding it vertically for short periods, but that too could be inconvenient. I think I will need to try both (I have only shot a crossbow once) before I decide. One thing for certain is compound bows look awesome!!
