    Saturday June 10
    at 10 AM - 4 PM

Cheam Lake Wetlands Regional Park, Elgey Rd, Rosedale, BC

Plant native species, bag chopped down invasive species, and lay down liner to help tackle invasive species like Yellow Flag Iris. All these efforts will help boost the health of Cheam Lake Wetland.

This is one of the largest scale Yellow Flag Iris blitzes ever in BC!

Although it's very pretty, Yellow Flag Iris is an alien invasive species that has been comprimising wetlands in BC by competing for space with our native plants - reducing habitat for wildlife.

Bring your family and friends to engage in wetland restoration! Please dress for the weather as this event is going on rain or shine. Rubber boots are highly recommended. If you have waders, bring those too!

Work will be primarily be split into two types: 1) Placing pond liner to cover freshly-cut invasive species and 2) Planting areas that were treated in 2016.

Pizza will be served for lunch!!!

    • WHEN: June 10. Drop in between 10:00am and 4:00pm. Site tours will be held at 10:30am and 2:00pm.
    • WHERE: Cheam Lake Wetlands Regional Park, Chilliwack.
