podcast with some info for newbies

Guys, myself and my good friend and hunting partner started recording a podcast series called Highlander Hunting Podcast.

Based in Calgary, we talk about DIY public land hunting in the mountains and foothills.
We are purposely talking about tactics and gear that new hunters can learn from.
Also talk about why we hunt, we did one episode that was a potluck get together with our hunting friends and family. Several of them very new to hunting.
Our most recent episode is called "whats in your daypack". Mike and I go through the contents of our daypacks, speak about why we carry what we do.

We hope people can learn from our mistakes and hopefully be inspired to go on their own adventures into the back country.
If you listen and like it, please give us a review. Thanks.

Guys, we've put up two more episodes since this post:
Ep.6 All about hunting rifles. It's a whole lot of useful info.
Ep.7 Optics- binoculars and spotting scopes. What you should know before shopping for them.

    Hope you enjoy.

Just a heads up, we interviewed Dylan Eyers from Eatwild.ca last night. Had a great chat about his ventures offering new hunters skill development. Great guy and very knowledgable.
It will be up for free download tomorrow.
    Cheers

Re: podcast with some info for newbies

Just wanted to give people a heads up. There are 21 episodes of our podcast up for free download now.
Most are geared toward the newer hunter. Our goal has been to offer tips, instruction, and stories about hunting big game on public land.
    We cover topics such as:
Optics- what to know, explaining the terminology used so you can understand what you're buying.
Rifle selection- everything you'd need to know and understand when making to choice on what to get.
Wild meat care- we all hunt for the meat. We interviewed a butcher/Master chef Canada finalist all about this topic.
Recently, we've added a couple of episodes that recount some hunts we've been on this year.
We've also talked on the subject of getting your children in the field, as we're both in this phase of our lives now.

We hope you enjoy the podcast and are always available for feed back, or questions, or suggestions.

    Cheers.
