We hold our cell phone very tight, set it to use the flash and put it in the hole far enough to snap a picture! Haven't had a hen fly out yet!

My old stompin' grounds. I grew up in those fields and marshes. Thanks for sharing Dano.

Found an old picture of dad checking a nest box, probably around 1980 along the south Alouette by Trethewey's on 216th. (streak is from a crease....)

Rich used to host a DU Greenwing day at the 216th street farm. This is my my son and I and it would have been in the mid-80's.

Awesome work Dano and great thread!!! What trail cams are you using? My box has the interest of a black squirrel right now.

We buy cheap reconditioned cameras when they go on sale! Wildview, and Stealth. I have one Cabelas camera too.
Found squirrels in a box back in the '70's and had an owl in one too!
A camera will let you know what's going on, some of our boxes show nothing but ducks have been on and in them for weeks now!

Thanks again Dano I spent a lot of time shooting Teal in the buck brush behind the berry farm at the bottom of old 5th Ave in the late 60s. It's a great thing you you do for the birds, and in bringing back old memories.

I don't know if they were woodies but I saw some ducks landing in old snags west of 100 mile at big lake, didn't have any bino's to ID them, if they weren't woodies I don't know what kind of ducks they would have been. They were definitely nesting.
