Couple years ago I was bitching that someone had stolen my crab traps. Then a couple weeks later somebody calls me and asks if I'd lost any traps. Turns out my traps were several miles south. It was probably a combination of wind and current that moved them from 30 feet of water into deep water where they just bobbed along at the end of my rope until they found bottom again. I suspect it happens more than people would like to admit.
This. I'm guilty of it, definitely happens more often than thought...
The only advantage to a light rifle is it's weight, all other advantages go to the heavier rifle..

    True, this works.

I like to soak overnight, especially if it's flooding.

So my traps are out and it was a pleasure being out there meeting other prawners and learning new techniques.
    I lost one trap on a reef, and 3 are M.I.A .

Maybe be they'll show up, if not I'll get some more.

Losing gear is part of fishing.
