What about trucks don't you like?

A truck has a bed or box.
An SUV is a truck without a box: frame rails, axles, same drivetrain.

A CUV is a tall car: Independent suspension, thin tires, smooth and automated powertrain, superior acoustics.

A full size van is a truck with an integral canopy and no divide between bed and cab. Very useful, there's a reason tradesmen choose them.

A Minivan is a car with more seats. Some handle excellently with premium luxury.

Could go jeep and get a utility trailer if looking to take camping gear or bring home moose/deer etc. Myself I would go with a Pick-up with canopy. Jeeps not as stable on wet/icy roads due to short wheel base, but just need to drive accordingly

If I was looking to buy another SUV I'd definitely consider another xterra, was a sad day when she was written off.

4 runner if you have the budget, jeep Cherokee if your on a tight budget, if you do get an older Cherokee or Wrangler make sure it has the 4L inline 6, they drink a bit of gas but are bulletproof.

If you're talking about the xterra they're rear wheel drive, with 4x4, so no not awd.

Why not drive the Lada that is in your avatar? I understand they are not bad offroad, lol.

Just to be different, you could try a smaller SUV like a Toyota Rav4, or a Tracker.

Jeep wrangler

I had a Toyota Hilux (diesel RHD 4Runner) for years and loved it. I'm looking at getting a rig for the next season and am considering some of the vehicles listed. I'm betwixt and between on a SUV again or a pickup with crew cab for the family. Have considered Dakotas and also the older Jeep Cherokee inline 6 too. I too love the Tacoma and Wranglers but they're too rich for my blood.
