I think the outfitter on the bc side was grandfathered when they created the park, so technically it is legal, but ONLY for them...

I agree with klondiker, because on the Yukon side the national park boundary does not go all the way to the tat. there is an area by Dalton post which is not national park. Is there rapids from Dalton down to aprox where Squaw creek is? Who was the guide you went with?

The fishing guide I went with was Dalton Trail Lodge, on the Yukon side of the Tat

Seems to me some Provincial park wardens once tried to limit boat access in Atlin
Provincial park but federal navigatble watrs act trumped them.

it's true, contacted Smithers parks branch, only guides and outfitters can apply for jet boat permit use on the tat. Not sure what the rime or reason behind that is,

I understand its to limit access, if it's going to be limited access then limit everyone the same, if permits are going to be issued then issue them fairly to everyone. Typical governmental politics, and people wonder why laws are broken,
