Nano high-tech scopes to be out in Shot 2018!

I was reading in Outdoor Life and online about the new nano technology rifle scopes that all the major manufacturers are working on now, and the first few models will be out for Shot 2018. Bottom line, the internal lenses are made up of many layers of polymer that are fused together to make perfect lenses that are lighter than glass. The other benefit besides weight savings is they can be formed to give a wider range of magnification in the news scopes. So, in 2018 we'll see high end scopes that weigh 6-8 ounces and give you a very bright 2-20X40 to put on your favourite rifles! Bushnell, Leopold, Swarovski, Leica, Nightforce, and Zeiss, along with several other companies, are working with this new nano tech and will be putting out rifle scopes, beginning next year! Sounds like a great way to finish off a mountain rifle build!

When you read the technical parts of what the nano lens tech can do, Mark, you'll see that it makes scopes much lighter AND makes it possible to greatly expand the magnification range...BUT I don't know about 1-70! 2-20X on the other hand...that's achievable.

I've got a NF 2.5-10X42 Compact...great scope, but if it can go 2-20X and weigh 9/10 ounces instead of 19, that's a big improvement! The one thing I forgot is the depth of field is also much better with these new scopes, a lot more of what you see is sharp as a razor. I'm building a Wildcat stocked mountain spec rifle this year, but it's waiting for it's scope until next spring...

If Bushnell builds a plastic lens scope, you'll be in high cotton SSN. Haha.

Lots of hype, speculation, and conjecture. Ill wait for hard evidence and initial offerings to come under peer review before I get excited.
