Spring Black Bear

Been to a few of my spots (hope, Hwy 1 Hwy 3) this weekend with the young fellow in tow.
No poops to report. No tracks. Greens only at the very lowest elevations on southern exposure.

The bears are doing what I shoulda done after another 70 hour week. Snoozing.

I think so too. There's not enough food around. Still pretty cold out too. Even Hope is dipping into the minus most nights. I imagine bears would be staying denned up... probably better from a calorie standpoint. Next week should be a little better. If there are bears out they should be easy to find... all on the same patch of grass

My bets are first bear success on HBC won't be till the last few days of April. Would not be surprised if it's not till the first few days of May even

My buddy's dad knocked down a nice blackie this weekend just outside of Kamloops. No pics or details yet, but first success I've heard of.

Wow they would sure have some dandy coats right now ...... I prefer mine to fatten up a bit, get some more grits into the guts. More Bear-aroni

Cruise the logging roads nice and slow and watch ahead for green patches and dandelions! Dandelions = bears.

Got my bear hunt booked for May long weekend this year!! PUMPED!!!! Just west of Huston BC baby!!!
