    Re: Your Personal Best years???

I have had some memorable years: I was lucky to have a childhood full of hunting and fishing which included my first big game animal (black bear) and a nice 4x4 alpine muley. Had some great moose hunts with my Dad as well.

In 2006 I killed my first and only Stone which I consider one of my best trophies to date with BC rams. That hunt was epic! I also managed to kill a 6 year old Billy and two WT bucks 5x5 and a 4x4.

2013 was also a great year:
    Spring LEH Grizz:

Memorable double header bull elk hunt with Brambles - that hunt was simply awesome -screaming bulls like one can only dream of...

Nov Muley - another quick decision required
    Live to Hunt...

As an adult onset hunter with only a few years under my belt last year was my best yet, filled with firsts.
    Got an archery Mule buck
First whitetail which was also my first rifle animal and my first big game animal I got with no help whatsoever.
    First (and second) turkey
    First couple grouse
    A few rabbits
    And my first duck.
This year I plan to take my dad out hunting for the first time in his life and try to connect on something. My wife is currently working on her hunter's ed course as well. It should be another great year.

2010 was definitely one of my better years.

The year started off helping a friend get and early season Blackie.

Next up was a few great grizz hunts for myself that didn't end up with a cut tag....but some great memories with good friends.

Followed by one of the most strenuous/adventurous but rewarding hunts Ive ever had.

Then a couple deer into the freezer to wrap up the fall.

Long ago a four year span roaming the Bucking Horse was the epic of my hunting . Two Bull Moose and one Bull Caribou taken with a Chek-Mate Recurve . One Bull Caribou taken with a compound bow .
Elk have long avoided me and this oldtimer is running out of seasons , could use some help on this one !!!!!

2016 was my best year. First stone sheep, 9 year old billy, 5x4 WT, and a 4x4 muley.

All beauties showtime, look at the hair on that Billy!!!
The only advantage to a light rifle is it's weight, all other advantages go to the heavier rifle..
