Re: Unique Markings/Features on the Animals you've taken??

A great many years ago when there was an open season for does, I shot an old dry one
in a series of very steep canyons below a large ranch. It had badly damaged a front leg
a long time before I shot it...probably more than a year or more. From the knee down was
only hide containing the leg bones all broken into many pieces. There was absolutely no
sign of meat tissues. Throughout those steep canyons were deer trails one would think
only sheep and goats could travel. How that doe could survive for so long, including through
bitterly cold winters, especially considering there were both coyotes and cougar prowling the
area is baffling really. Of course when I saw that injury I carefully examined all her organs etc
for any sign of abnormality's but all was well, and although she wasn't fat, she was in good shape.

"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. Our hunting party killed a big bull moose a few years ago with 3 healed over broken ribs. The heal spots where the size of a big fist.

We think he was a fighter not a lover.
Lean it on your trailer hitch and whack it with any hammer you have. That usually knocks the front ramp off so you can then work on the sight easier. The stripped or broken screws can be dealt with later. Gun Tech

there was bright white light just in front of me and I was pretty sure my dead grandmother was standing there with a glass of milk and some home made cookies. Steve W

Never took this animal either but it seemed odd. This pic was taken on May 2 while glassing for bears. No velvet, just a hard-horned 4pt muley.

    Meet Mr Bent Face.

Nose has a pretty good bend to the left and has molars that are extra long so they probably weren't matched up with the lower jaw.

He has shitty horn growth in his second and third years so the injury may have happened then. Who knows for sure??
