    New World Record Elk

Well it's been long enough, his wife said he wouldn't be bothered if I did this and that he would never do this on his own, sooooooo.

My buddy shot a world record Elk this past fall!! Know the guy through our wives, kids etc. Have spoken hunting a few times with him but we've always been amidst the family chaos of children, even at our house for Xmas dinner we only had about 5 minutes to talk shop but we hope to hunt together this coming fall. By his wall of mounts, I may learn a little from him also haha. Ok, here's what I know.

He was fortunate enough to draw a very desired LEH for bull Elk this past fall. He went out and found a brute haha Rosi Elk to boot. So, he did what he could when it came to measuring and I was very excited for him. Knowing he had to wait 70 days or so we kinda forgot about it till this morning. His wife called this morning saying he had taken it to the city for an official score. So, he is going with the SCI standard and scoring. From what she knew, they were sending it to be re-scored by a panel. He wouldn't let her say the score they gave him, all she would confirm is that he is definitely in the world top ten for non-typical Rosi Elk. I am not about to suffer through attempting to load the couple pics I have but if some savvy member wants to assist me, get me your email and I will send them to you to post to this thread. It's a hammer, my buddy is roughly 6' 200lb for reference in the pics.

OMG, this just in, from his wife as the pics were being uploaded. New world record! Both SCI scores were 430 and 4/8ths. Now goes to panel.
