found this little bit of info while researching cougars that might be helpful to some
as a cougar stands twice as short as whitetail deer. Because they have legs twice as short as a deer i have seen lots of cougar in my time i pretty sure your looking at cat. And not a very big one either Port Alberni area has a large population of Puma, cougar,mountain lion.what ever you want to call them
as much as I do believe there are cougars in ON, that looks like a wt doe with her head turned back

Thank you everyone for your responses.. I do have many pictures of deer standing in this area and they seem to be about twice as tall as the animal in question...some people have suggested it is a bobcat?? I think its a cougar.
.i posted it on a BC Hunting website, Because BC hunters will more likely know a cougar when they see one then an Ontario hunter..

That is a cougar no doubt. Zoom in look at its back leg stepping right where its front leg is. Cat trait. Look at the body, it is not a deer. Cougar. Done deal.
