Nice congrats, what's your draw weight, and what distance you get him at?
go with a good guy it is team work and go with a guy who has done some killing and he will let you win after that swak you will be hooked
It took me 3 years for the first deer harvest, but it was 20 some years ago. Now I reserve my whitetail tags specifically for a archery season. Love to stock them dressed in white and pretend that I don't see them, and sometimes they do drop the guard slightly and don't perceive me as a direct threat and that is a moment I am for in the woods.
I grew up bow hunting primarily dragging on my dad's leg bow hunting so my stats are very biased..but it took me tell I was 18 to really start harvesting heavy..since than no looking back..but raised as a blacktail bow hunter was a huge advantage once I got some muscle and matured.
got my first archery deer, my first year out. It was a small Island buck.
I have learned silence from the talkative, toleration from the intolerant, and kindness from the unkind; yet strange, I am ungrateful to those teachers.
I'm on season 3. Been chasing a porch buck around for the last few days. Snow is crunchy and louder than Motorhead. He's also with a half dozen ladies. Tough getting in close on him. That said I only really have 2 or 3 days a season to get out.
I got lucky but was in a low pressure area. 2 hrs in season 1 on September 3! Too easy I thought! A nice 2 point muley.
2nd year with trad gear. Got a blacktail, moose, and stone sheep.................... never matched that year since, but get something every year.
