Was able to get out yesterday for my first bird hunt if the year. I had a bike accident couple weeks ago and broke a pair of ribs on my left side, so was not entirely sure how it was going to pan out. So I left my layout blind at home and thought setting up in a more traditional blind was a better way to go.
Getting the canoe unloaded was the toughest part, and shooting stung a bit, but not too bad.
Ended up being a quick morning. Widgeons were coming in to the decoys with ease, giving me nice close shots. Was all done by 8:45. Great when it works like this.
On a side note, my friend did some shotgun work for me in the off season. She shoulders great now. Amazing difference when your gun fits. Thanks Jim
