    Decoys in the Polder

Only my second season and I'm still feeling things out.

I just picked up a bunch of decoys, and am looking for some advice on setting them up in the Pitt Polder.

Does the water level change much in there, to the point of making adjustable anchors a requirement, or is there one length of anchor that works really well?

    Thanks in advance

I use about 6 feet long Texas rig style (non adjustable) and they seem to work fine. The marsh has enough weeds to hold them in place as long as you are not setting up mid channel.

Ladner seems to often require longer cords and heavy weights with the current, tides and deeper channels.

    Thanks for that.

Ladner is an interesting place to hunt, and we've come to the conclusion that one needs a boat to effectively work the channel, a strong dog, low tide, or some combination of the three. Not having a dog, we'll have to experiment with cord length to find what will keep the decoys from dragging there.
