Island Backwood Lakes and Rivers For Waterfowl?

I hunt deer and waterfowl often on Vancouver Island. When I Waterfowl hunt I hit up Cow Bay or Nanaimo Estuary.

When I am out deer hunting though, I notice all the backwood lakes and rivers down logging roads and while I don't see massive flocks of waterfowl in them, I do notice some birds.

Anyone take logging roads and hunt remote lakes or rivers? As Opposed to heading to the Coast and hunting the Estuaries?

Not looking for specific spots. Just wondering if anyone does it.

not as a focus.... but inUcluelet we used to wack a few on the lakes.... but they were drive by's not anything you'd set up on. trouble is once you bust them off they are gone, and not coming back that day
