    Need Some Help

Me and my best friend were looking to go out and hunt the remembrance day long weekend but we have no idea where to go. We're first year university students in the lower mainland and we've only hunted a handful of times in the interior with a friend's dad who is having surgery and isn't able to come. We have our hunting licences, bows we know how to shoot and a logging road capable Subaru plus camping equipment. We were hoping to keep it within 2-3 hours of the lower mainland but could be flexible. We would greatly appreciate any guidance or advice

    Cheers, M

Check google earth for spots with cutblocks and go there. The rut is starting so you should be seeing deer.

UBC took all that Williams lake gas money, plus bit of a drive for a weekend.

Try past Pemberton up the Duffey Lake road or any other direction. look for a cutblock and go for a hike. Rut is on so there should be deer wandering around.

Do yourself a favour and forget region 2, especially considering you're novices and bow hunting, it's an excercise in futility. Region3(Merrit area) or region 8(Princeton area)can be reached in less than 3 hours and offer better opportunities, they might be busy, but at least you can take a whitetail tag and further improve your odds.Voght valley is easily accessed with your subaru and offers awesome camping along several beautiful lakes, (Shea, Boss, and Davis lakes)this area also straddles the two regions, again, expect crowds, but it will be the same anywhere you go this time of the year. Good Luck and happy hunting.
