    Teaching the boy

Any tips on teaching a 6 year old how to use open sights on his bb gun?

He is still confused about being a lefty or right and my family has a history of having the wrong eye as the dominant one. Should I use an eye patch maybe? Any advice is greatly welcome.

No eyepatch, use safety glasses with one eye taped over with electrical tape. Personally I won't shoot a BB gun with out safety glasses had too many ricochets in my youth same with sling shots no eye protection no shooting for me.

I have always shot both eyes open in every form of shooting I've done but then again I've never had eye dominatcy issues either.

Teaching open sights can be a bit tricky start by drawing it out for him on paper showing him what proper and improper alignment looks like then let him dial it in for himself. Just my two cents.
