Nice one!!
A 28 lb pike on a 5 of diamonds!! Thats a beauty. You got me feeling homesick for Ontario! I can smell that slimy jackfish from here.
heheheh they sure are slimy and the slime is a bit stinky....my dad wouldn't let them slough sharks/hammer handles/ jackfish in the boat...heheheh they are great eating if you know how to get rid of the wye bones...walleye (pickerel) were the only fish we were even allowed to count as a fish...
mmmmm Great looking dinner.

this a great way to get most of the meat bone free..then you just work at getting out the bones on the remaining stuff when eating...i wouldnt waste the meat myself but it is nice to have boneless fillets to serve kids and guests
Awesome catch there fella!!Caught in cold water, pike are 2nd to none in taste, those pesky bones are worth the trouble. Way back when I was a kid back in Manitoba we would lurk the marshes in the spring and shoot them with 22's. Way back 40 years ago!!!
I hate when that happens
Awesome pike, slightly bigger than anything in Charlie Lake lol
pics like that make me miss northern ON big time
Grew up in KL (Kirkland Lake) the NHL, Gold & Pike town!
Caught many but nothing even close-maybe 5 to 8 lbs.
CONGRATS!
