    Chainsaw Mills

Not exactly hunting gear but could build a heck of a hunting cabin deep in the woods etc.
Been playing with two chainsaw milling attachments the last week around the property. Starting to get pretty good at making timbers and salvaging a bit of 1-2" sidecut.

Targeting mostly 12' 6"x8" timbers for a carport and why. Using the Grandberg mini mill 11 and the Alaskan mk111 36" on a pair of husky 390's. It is a bit finicky to get them set up for the first cut but after a good edge is there it's beauty. Not fast, little labour intensive but fairly rewarding. And these beams are dimensionally sound!
The only advantage to a light rifle is it's weight, all other advantages go to the heavier rifle..

That's hard work man, good for you!

It's rewarding building with materials you've sweated for!

Some of that grey foam pipe insulation on the handles of the alaskan mill helps reduce the white knuckle a lot I have found.

Nice work, looks like you had a busy day )
Those work good with a proper rip-cut filed chain

With a chock line and a skill saw you could trim them boards up real nice .

Definitely the plan, .404" chain makes a pile of sawdust and a circular is quicker. Then run along table saw...
