I am considering carrying the Seek Thermal camera line and just wondering if anyone is using one already? If they live up to half the hype it would be an awesome tool for blood trailing and finding downed game! http://www.thermal.com/

Not sure what brand, but my buddy bought an Iphone one that works really good for his plumbing company.
Very handy tool.
I put one on my Christmas list
A Pine needle falls. An Eagle sees it. A Deer hears it. A Bear smells it
I tested it out at wholesale and wasent impressed. Frame rate was way to slow.
Pretty slow and the resolution is not great. I use one to check our powder coating process but finding critters in the bush with it is next to impossible.
Can you see the sleeping cat 8ft away?
If an animal is going to die so that I might live, the least I can do is perform the unsavoury deed myself.
I also had a look at the Seek for Iphone at Wholesale, even the store sales guy agreed that it sucked.
Flir is bringing out their Iphone version which apparently uses the camera image overlayed on the infrared image from their lens using software to enhance the result. Pics looked impressive so if its in the right price range it'll be on my xmas list.
Great feedback thanks guys. I'll check out the Flir then.

Any more info on this?
I'm just wondering if seek thermal or any infrared device would be considered an illuminating device.

I'm selling my seek thermal on here if you're interested. They work great about 10 different colour pallets
