    Goat Growth Rings

Hey guys I am not a seasoned goat hunter but would like to know how to age a billy I was lucky enough to harvest a 9.3/4+" Billy with 6" bases. Only had 6 visable rings... Do you count rings on a goat the same as a ram??

It becomes very difficult to count rings past 5 or 6. Goats do almost all their horn growth in their first 3 or 4 years.

When the C.I. is done they will age it. If you provide us with a nice field photo and also a close up of the horns we can help you out.

    btw - that's a nice goat. Heavy bases . . . assuming Region 6?
