    Grouse

I'veI've always either used a shotgun or bow on grouse but this year I'm taking the .22 up north with me for them.. I do want to get one done at the taxidermist this year so wondering what would be the best shot placement for that one bird.. All others for eating will be head shots.

Don't use a hollow point and shoot for the heart area which is about 1 inch down from where the neck ends.

Nothing worse than a gut shot... Not worth a crippling shot to get some decor. Do you just stand there and watch it writhe until it dies? Gut shooting is awful.

Maybe try some small shot #8 or even 9 in a either a 410 or 20 gauge
