What an awesome day. My buddy and I had our dogs out. My pup,Ben, was on his first outing. We put up 70 or so birds. We got limits. Ben was pointing and retrieving like a champ. I'll post a picture when I can.

I was in mu 8-5 for the opener yesterday and only managed to scare up 2 ! Did see quite a few deer and an owl grab a rabbit off the road which was neat to see.

I don't think you were in blue grouse country if you'v only seen a handful. I'm thinking they were migrant blue grouse in willow grouse country.
