    New Hunter Bootcamp!

    2015 New Hunter Bootcamp

    Friday to Sunday, September 18th to 20th, 2015

    Ridgedale Rod & Gun Club

    Abbotsford, BC

    No P.A.L., C.O.R.E., or experience necessary!

    BCWF Region 2 - Lower Mainland is offering a "New Hunter Bootcamp" that can help new and aspiring hunters gain the basic knowledge they need to get a safe start in the sport. Participants will be learning sound hunting and shooting basics from passionate outdoor enthusiasts with many years of hunting and shooting experience.


    The New Hunter Bootcamp takes place September 18th to 20th, 2015, at the Ridgedale Rod and Gun Club. Fees include Instruction, equipment, accommodations, and meals are all included - just bring yourself!

    Potential Featured Workshops Include:

    Introduction to Trap Shooting: A hands-on course specifically for beginners or any participants with limited shooting experience – it’s a great way to build self-confidence in your ability to shoot. Learn how to safely handle shotguns, how to hold them properly, track clay targets and hit them!

    Rifle Marksmanship: Fundamentals of handling rifles safely, rifle actions, and shooting for target or sport. Learn how to position the firearm, sight the target, the art of trigger control and breathing.

    Introduction to Archery: Learn how to stand, how to hold the bow, sight the target, and release the bow. You will be shooting arrows!

    Hunting & Game Handling: Fundamentals of hunting, tracking your game, using range finders, spotting scopes and binoculars. Includes field dressing and handling game. Learn tips about food sources for wildlife and game care.

    Wall Tent Assembly & Set-Up: Making camp. Somewhere to sleep …

    Backpacking: Tips for a successful outdoor experience; take essentials, know what they are.

    Goose & Duck Calling: Talk to the birds…

    Decoys & Blinds: Learn how to set decoys and make blinds.

    Hunting Tips: Sharpen your hunting skills.

    Alcohol
    Axes / hatchets
    Broadheads

    Non-prescription drugs
    Smoking (other than in designated areas)
    Pets - none! - not even little ones...

    Well worth the cost at twice the price, hats off to you chaps for doing this for the hunting community.
