I have the 10X32 EL's for over ten years now. I use them for everything from treestands to sheep and goat hunts. Nothing but good to say about them.
I harvest carrots. I kill animals.

I've had the 10 X 42 EL's for about 10 years. They are incredible and worth every penny. My hunting partner just bought a pair of SLC's at a good price. They are real good too, but are not as good as the EL's. IMO

    it actually does, 100%.
it's the objective lens that does the light gathering.
the pupil size then determines how much of that gathered light is transmitted through the optics to your eye.

No objective gathers light (its's not a funnel ) binoculars transmit light and the size of the objective lens has nothing to do with how much light is transmitted, the number of lenses and the coating determine how much light makes it through the pupil

sorry sofa king do your research !

the 10X42 el's are amazing right at dusk or dawn. It's hard to describe how good they are. That's about the only time the difference between the two would matter.
