The D-loop is not rocket science. You need to loosen it and you may have to replace it altogether. There are plenty of youtube offerings to show you the way of adding or replacing the D-loop. What would you do if you were out hunting and the D-loop failed? Go home? It is an elementary fix that you should be capable of doing in the field.
