Google earth is great for that. View all of the areas on your smart phone, and all the maps are cached, along with gps type spotting. Then buy the HuntBuddy app, and you're laughing.

Almost any FSR in the area will hold deer in the area .... head up Noble canyon (Becker , Bardolf lakes) to the power lines .... whitetail & mulies . a lot of those roads head down to trinity valley rd in lumby . Harris creek off Crieghton valley rd (echo lk) is another . King Edward , and Aberdeen plateau ... tons of rds and lots of deer up there as well .

Harris Creek to Holmes or Homes or Home lake (one of those three) was a favourite spot of mine in that area. If you are up for it there are also some great areas out around Cherryville off of the highway towards the ferry or in towards sugar lake!

    Best of luck!

you already have some great info in these posts. Just wanted to echo that you really just need to go on google maps or earth, choose an fsr, and go for a drive and you will have a great chance at spotting some deer

To be clear, you can't actually see deer on google earth. At least, I can't. Is there a filter setting that you have to enable?

Just kidding, obviously, some great advice on here. Good luck this season.

Yes what these said for areas all have tones of deer. King eddy and nobles canyon being closest to town. Just get in there and explore. If your kid is a youth even better, you can have a look before the rest of us Schumcks.

Also if you are going up the road to King Edward Lake look out for the Coldstream Ranch property marker. Crown land above that marker, and private land below it and they do not allow hunting on ranch land. Same applies for the road up to Aberdeen Lake as some land that was open to the public years ago is now private, so if going up that way take a drive up it to become familiar with property markers. Also watch out for logging trucks as both areas to my knowledge are still being actively logged.
