    Re: Alum arrows

All my arrows have aluminum shafts ...

3D the aluminum core is wrapped in Carbon (ACC)
Hunting the aluminum wraps the Carbon core (FMJ)
Indoor paper punching is strictly aluminum shafts (X-7)
outdoor paper the Aluminum core is wrapped again in Carbon (ACE)

While Aluminum arrows have great tolerances ... pure alum arrows are weak and supsible to damage once tweaked a bit they are out

the binary or Alum Carbon Composite makeup of the ACCs ACEs and FMJ uses the best of both worlds with the toughness and resilency of carbon with the tight tolerances of Alum

I use alu based alloy of about 3 metals made by TenPoint. They are much tougher than alu arrows and springs back a bit like a steel, but they are more brittle and prone to cracking instead of bending under stress.
