That sucks Steven. Can't fault you for not putting in a good effort though.

Two guys from work were there and saw sweet f all also. Sounds like a real mess.

Wasn't so much of a "hunt" as it was Lunacy!
Even so, I wish things had gone better for you.

I'll run up the story of what we saw, what we didn't, and some thoughts on the overall scenario tomorrow.
Bottom line I can already call: Don't come looking again...
    I certainly won't be...

That's too bad. At least you gave it 100%. It was decent of you to keep us all up to date as your posts were interesting and anticipated.

Ya 15,000 views and not one elk...however we did our best..we were where we should have been..met hunters accompanied by 25 year veterans of Suffield..so the plan was sound. .just no elk on the base
And we all know Matt is a better hunter..hence his success.
    Not organized
    Too much closed area
    Too many Swedish army
Being the last bull hunt. .they were gone
No willingness by base to open areas that held elk..no conflict
95 % of elk shot were in Nov.hunt.
30% of our hunt gave up after day 1..
Thamk you to Fred, Mike, Roy, Phil, Nathan.Matt for intel and encouragement.
Thank you to my Sherpa Susan for her 20 hour days organizing, helping, encouraging, and learning to pee behind the truck..constantly interrupted..lol
Thank you Tim for your loan of long range rifle and custom handloads .
Thank you Roxanne. .opening your home and loan of your husband and son for the hunt.
    From Hinton Alberta..home tommorrow

    Re: Alberta elk draw

Hmmm great idea..not worth the time or effort or aggrevation..let alone 10 years priority, and several thousand $$$
Indians are selling elk in medicine hat..or big racks if you want one. .or 5..or 10..
    Pretty pathetic organization..
Glad the indians from sask, alberta, manitoba helped the ranchers ..wish I could have been given the opportunity..or they could have spared 1 soldiar for the lone zone that held elk...no dice..11 soldiars for 11 hour days to check 1 elk..seriously !
