Validation time for species tag

Hi,

Ok this may be a stupid question but i can't find anything online or in the core manuals or regs so I'm putting it to all of you. We were told that you have to wait 24 hrs after purchasing a black bear tag before harvesting a black bear. So I have been trying to see if this is true out of curiosity but I can't find anything anywhere. I know for grizzly and some other species you have to wait for two days before your tag is valid, but I don't see anything for black bear. Or your hunting licence in general.

So is this an old regulation that doesn't apply any longer?

And repeat, at least in most MU's. Whoever told you there was a wait time for black bear was wrong.

If there is a waiting period for a tag, it will say on it.

Ok good to know thanks. I've heard several people say this so didn't think much of it then decided to check into it but couldn't find anything.

Page 10 of the regs. All species that have a waiting period are marked with an asterisk and below gives the length of time for the waiting period.

Or you can look in your licence booklet..... Every single species tag page has it written down there....
