The spring bear guys aren't a big crowd to be avoided, and it sucks to spend several hours and $40 in fuel finding out what someone else already knows.
Just came back from Prince George and saw 3 nice looking bruins in between whiskers bay to mackenzie junction. So they are waking up. Finally

Seen a nice color phase between quesnel and Prince George yesterday
1 little bear, 1 bull moose shedding hair, and 1 still smoking burnt out lifted F350@11km on the Salmon.
Got a 6 footer black bear with my bow 2 weeks ago in 7-9 Prince George. I guess I was lucky to see it awake but I've seen a few out and about since then.
