Thoughts on 5-14 moose

A recently widowed old friend of my wife lives in 5-14. She invited us up to visit during hunting season.

I was wondering if anyone has some moose sighting or moose hunting advice for the area. I might possibly put in for LEH if there's a chance.

I have found that in the last 7 years the moose numbers in 5-14 are way down..... I used to hunt there regularly in October for deer and would see 3 - 4 bulls a day driving from our camp to deer spots. The last couple times up there I didn't even see a moose the entire trip except for a cow that was being gutted on the side of the road by the local FN hunters. Hopefully numbers start to rebound quickly. This is just the one area in 5-14 I have hunted though. Other parts may be different.

In 5-14 west of Williams lake we struggle seeing any moose or even fresh moose sign. My dad had a draw back in 2011 but we didn't see a single moose the whole trip.
